HISTORY
The first graduating class of PBHS was in
1907. West Palm Beach, Florida, grew from 564 in 1900 to 1,743
in 1910. The school was moved to "The Hill" in 1908
and was the largest in SE Florida. The old school became the
County courthouse in 1909. The 1928 hurricane took down the
tall tower. By 1922 there were three school buildings on the
site.
The last class graduated in 1970 and the new
combined school, Twin Lakes, was born. They graduated their
last class in 1988. Palm Beach Lakes High moved into the old
school building that fall, but moved into its new facility in
January 1989. The original buildings were restored and the
School of Arts opened in 1997.
